Santa Barbara Day 03

Where the dolphins were.

After breakfast this morning, I decided to walk along the beach to the zoo.
Stopped off to watch the dolphins for a while.
Also stopped off to watch the grass cutters.
I find myself stopping off more often these days.
Eventually, I make it to the zoo.

A very Hollywood zoo!

It has animals too.

You can wander around the kangaroo enclosure with 4 or 5 very chill roos.
They have a lot of penguins. So now I don’t need to go to Antarctica.

Actually, Antarctica was never on my bucket list.

The National Zoo doesn’t have giraffes anymore. So I always like seeing them.
Condor #72 landing. At my age, I don’t like to get too near them!

Don’t know how Condor #72 ended up in the zoo. The easy-to-access condor database only includes condors in the wild. But its red wing tag indicates that at one time it was in the wild.

By the time I finished wandering around the zoo, I had logged over 11,000 steps. So, Uber back to my hotel, and its tiny patio and a nap.

Later, back on my own tiny patio – dark-eyed junco.
