Kona – Day 09

New sign in town. Guess Kona is trying to be instagram friendly. This is 10AM. Notice any people? And, I didn’t photoshop them out. There are no people.
Where the tree was. 140-year-old fig tree dropped a huge branch late last month. Nothing was damaged. But the tree was declared “dangerous”. It will be missed.

A couple of years ago, a similar huge fig tree in Hilo tragically killed two women. Therefore, if your tree is deemed dangerous, it will be removed.

‘Ahu’ena Heiau needs some love.

Kona is having a hard time. Part of the village’s problems are self-induced. Free parking has disappeared. That’s part of the problem. The other problem is the lack of visitors. Kona gets a lot of winter visitors from Alaska and Western Canada. That’s not working right now.

People always want to know: What does gas cost? I am sure it’s cheaper at Costco.

Had a good Zoom yoga session at 7 AM this morning. I embarked on a skirt hemming project. Now I am deciding on dinner. Grilled cheese and tomato or peanut butter and honey? I stir-fried veggies and shrimp for lunch.
