Thanksgiving 2023

It’s never too early to catch halalu. Even on Thanksgiving morning. Kailua Pier at 7:30 Thanksgiving morning.
A lot going on in this kitchen.
There was Bella the Dog.
And Pearl the Parrot.
And food you might not have had on your table. Orange and purple sweet potatoes stuffed into orange shells. Topped with MacNuts. There was also avocado pie.

I have sweet potato, avocado pie and kabocha pie in my to-go bag. In Hawai’i you are always sent home with a “plate”.

Outside about 10 really fat chickens. They all had names. This one is Hazel.
Sparky and Gigi the sheep rule the outside. Their real job is to keep the land zoned and taxed as “agricultural”.  But they are actually lots of fun.
Billy, Monique, MaryEllen, Peg

And you gotta love it. MaryEllen extended an invite for next year. Never mind that I am 79 and she is 89.

Thankful for my extended ohana. Everywhere.
