A Kona Christmas! I love this place!

Waiting…Looking North

I was standing right outside my building. Actually, I was sitting on a fire hydrant.

Waiting… Looking South

It is approaching 5:15 PM.

OK. ROTC Kids with the flags.
Kids Playing Ukes

Kona doesn’t really have any Marching Bands.

The half dozen blind villagers always march. They are always upfront.

Everybody is required to either be in the parade or watching the parade.

Kids on skates
The Red T-Bird and the Beauty Queen.
The HS Football team – State Champs.
Decorated Jeeps.
Decorated Pickup Trucks.
Decorated Canoes.
Fire truck from the airport. It didn’t need much decorating.
Decorated Big Trucks.

There was a truck with Santa on it. But, I was scrambling out of the way of the on coming firetruck. It’s about 6:30. Parade was a little over an hour long.

And finally the Fire Tanker Truck waters the onlookers. Hey, this IS Kona.

We haven’t had a Christmas Parade since 2019.

(I may miss a day or two. Going to stay at Volcano National Park for a couple of nights. Don’t know about wifi/cell.)
