

They are about ankle deep. Every street has one. Kids and dogs seem to love them. And lots of stores sell rubber ducks. Of course they are a hazard. But, life’s a hazard.
Freiburg is a university town. I was out on caffeine quest when I noticed an orderly queue of students at on ice cream shop. No tourists. Just kids.

ProTip. One small scoop chocolate, order double shot of espresso. Pour over ice cream. The college kids watched me do it. I wonder if they will try it. It’s very common in Italy. But apparently not so much in Germany.

I stopped in for either vespers or compline. The church and I both survived.
This is a totally delightful town. A good end to a fine trip.
I thought you would love the drainage things. My Wife went to university there…
