Urban hike and Stork quest today

Another fine Sunny day in Strasbourg.

I knew that the town would be shuttered today. So, my plan was to go on an urban hike and seek out a stork.

I found wall art. This on on a glass recycling bin.
I found a fiberglass cow.
Campaign posters
Several polling places. No dogs allowed in this one.
Wonderful flowers

AND

Storks!

They are much prettier than I expected them to be.

Had a salad from Mickey Ds. Thank goodness it was open. And the salad was remarkably tasty. Urban hike is 7.5 miles. But I snagged a nap. Heading to Freiburg tomorrow. To Frankfurt airport on Wednesday. To IAD on Thursday. We will see how this plays out.

  1. Loving your daily amuse-bouche!

Our one McDonalds experience abroad was when nurse-not MJ brought me Portugal’s national soup from Mickey Ds in Porto. I was laid up for a day with a stomach virus and she thought a bowl of fast-food take-out soup would be soothing. McD’s Caldo Verde soup — minced cabbage — was NOT the answer!

The one American restaurant we cannot entirely resist in Europe is Five Guys. There are two in Munich. What a treat to find during our long German “is-that really-beef? ” beef hiatus.
