Boxing Day

Quarantined red lentil soup.

Back in quasi-quarantine. Scuffed around my cupboards and came with the makings of an acceptable red lentil soup. So, I have at least 3 meals covered. I have bananas and peanut butter and bread. Quasi-quarantine should be over on Dec 31. But, rereading the “strongly suggested” guidelines, I can make a case for quarantine being over on Dec 30. Or they can change the suggestions tomorrow. And I can follow them. Or not.

The roses are still blooming.

I escaped for a quick 1.5 miles around the building. Noticed that many rose bushes are still blooming. Guess that is global warming in action.

So, besides an illegal walk and making soup, what did I do today? When I come back from a trip I am always horrified by how much “stuff” I have. A lot of it is for “Just In Case”.  Or I might want it “Someday”. So, I am trying to use this period of confinement with all my just-in-case-someday stuff to get rid of some of it.  And I processed a grocery bag of mail. Stayed busy.

It is great to have Alexa AKA Computer running the lights and starting the coffee again. On the list is to get a wall switch to control the kitchen ceiling lights. Then maybe window shades?

The orchids are doing great. Without me.

Think I’ll go and have a bowl of that soup. I know it will be better tomorrow, but hey Nobody’s Promised Tomorrow.
