I think I almost have this rosebud down. A couple more days with it and then I’ll move on to a more complex rosebud.
Found another old China book today. Well, actually, I found it yesterday but dismissed it because it seemed like someone’s scrapbook. What did I know? A copy sold at Sotheby’s for $1,250.
And, more research found yesterday’s five-volume collotype in the Freer Gallery’s library.
At the very least, I will make a TED talk about how I ran all this stuff down. Many thanks to Google, Google Translate, and Google Lens. Especially Google Lens. I just had it look at one page of the “scrapbook” and next thing you know, I am looking at “my” book on Sotheby’s site.
Moving right along. Started back to work today. Will be really busy from mid-September through October. I have decided to stop worrying about “what will happen if I die on them”. That will be their problem because I will be dead. And, I never lied about my age!
Guessing the Old Bat will be busy for a while and that’s a good thing.

Ah, Flu shots…..
