friluftsliv – it was a nice warm wind free Sunday afternoon. Sunday is a rest day for me. I know I know. What on earth do I have to rest up from? Which is reminds me of Lincoln’s famous letter to Gen. McClellan.
Washington City, D.C., Oct. 24 [25], 1862.
Majr. Genl. McClellan
I have just read your despatch about sore tongued and fatiegued horses. Will you pardon me for asking what the horses of your army have done since the battle of Antietam that fatigue anything?
A. LINCOLN
But, I digress. Sunday is a rest up day, because due to the way classes are scheduled – Monday and Tuesday are serious exercise days for me. But, it was a fine afternoon to make pictures of fall blooming camellias. And of the vehicles that our resident auto critic had out for test driving.
I am told that this is a Dodge Ram TRX for off road activities. It has not one but two real spare tires. And costs about 90K.
Gratitude
Grateful for all the joy that Bear 399 provided during this terrible year. May she and her cubs have a nice safe sleep. She has been spending too much time near “civilization” of late. The sooner she beds down the better.
I don’t think that Mother Nature will be cooperating tomorrow morning for the lunar eclipse. But, I’ll check.
