Still in a holding pattern about going east. Canada Rail cancelled my train on Feb 29. But, it wasn’t going to be leaving Vancouver on Feb 29 anyhow, so, I am still “holding”. I have set Tuesday as my drop dead date to deploy one of my backup plans.

Almost finished reading a book about Robert Louis Stevenson. I was hoping it would say more about his time here in Hawai’i. He spent 6 months here in 1889, hanging out with King David Kalakaua. He even came to exciting downtown Kailua-Kona. I am happy to report that I seem to have recovered, at long last, my ability to read. Even things of some seriousness.
Been messing around with browsers again: Chrome, Safari, Opera. With the crappy bandwidth at the hotel and my VPN, Opera is the hands down winner.
