Sort of a take it easy kind of a day. It was cool and cloudy most of the day and it is raining at this instant. Since this is essentially a desert – we always welcome the rain.
Who knew that one can not order a phone “power bar” from Amazon if one is in Hawai’i. Well, I am sure that if I had thought about it – I could have figured it out. I wasn’t able to order a camera battery last year either. Funny how dependent I have become on Auntie Ammie to get anything that I could possibly want to me immediately if not sooner. I’ll just wait until I get to California. Surprised to discover that Santa Barbara is not in a Same-Day delivery zone. The Asylum is. This sure is a first world problem.
I was reading the Reuters news feed while having an early supper. It went on in great detail about evacuating the Queen from London if Brexit goes down bad. Mentioned riots and shortages of food and meds. Let’s see, I plan to spend about 2 weeks in the British Isles. Plus another in Bermuda in mid-June to early July. Should I factor this into my travel planning? This is another first world problem.

Look what happened. A rainbow. Life is good as long as I don’t think about it too much!

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.
