A new bug…

I found this wonderful moth this afternoon. And, it always pleases me no end when I can come up with a positive identification. Googling winged black bug with orange neck and feathery antenna… doesn’t get it done.

The name indicates this cute little moth (or his caterpillar offspring) can do serious damage to your vineyard. I think he would make great earrings!

Summer seems to be coming to an end. The youngest grand started back to school today. Last summer, I was crazy busy getting ready to move. The summer before last, I was busy keeping Mr C alive and happy. Ditto the summer before that. I guess this summer has been “ordinary”.
