Hello, my name is Peggy and I am powerless over empty boxes.
Yes, empty boxes. Especially shoe boxes. But also candy boxes, Altoids tins and printer/copier paper boxes.
I am going to have to have an intervention. I actually moved empty boxes to the Old Bat Cave.
Why am I saving them? Many of them are boxes that tennis shoes came in. Carlton went through about three pair a year. But, I don’t think I am saving them because they held size 11 tennis shoes. I am saving boxes that held size 38 Mephisto sandals and clogs as well.
I don’t think I am ready to get rid of all of them. Maybe, I’ll recycle half of them. I don’t have any trouble getting rid of “amazon-type” shipping boxes. It is boxes with lids that I seem to be overly attached to.
Greg has the same “problem”. Sometimes those boxes are actually very useful which doesn’t help to mitigate the “problem”. He also saves plastic bottles with caps such as dishwashing liquid bottles and any plastic containers that food comes in.
