The Accidental Selfie

I got in the elevator yesterday and the setting sun was streaming in the windows – I decided to see if I could fire off a picture before the doors closed. One of those shots that either work like you planned or you delete. Well, I was totally surprised to find myself in the image. And, it is not me, it is a reflection of me. Esperanza polishes our elevator into a mirrored “bronze” box. I am not sure how this worked. I was looking out of the elevator door – which was closing. You can see the camera in my hand. I am looking at the screen. My right finger is on the shutter release. The light coming in the door casts a shadow on my face of the camera. Oh well, whatever happens is what I planned!

It was 72° today. Shorts and ice coffee were the order of the day.

Carlton is really tired. Glad he only has four more nuke attacks. His skin has gotten rather red. And puffy. But, it is has not blistered or peeled. This is a today’s Good Thing.

Thinking about that reflection. I guess it is coming off the left wall or more likely off the left door jam.

  1. Hi, Peg you and your photographic expertise never ceases to amaze me, as well as you limitless knowledge of computers and related programs. You sure got a lot in that one photo, just like you planned.
I am also very happy to read what to me sounds like Mr. “C” is having a very favorable response to all the treatments. Hopefully you guys will be riding the airways on silver wings to Hawaii soon. The best of all seasons to you and Carlton. Zee

  2. Peg, as all of your photos are great, this one particularly struck me with your explanation of it. More than cool. Mystical.

I hope your and Carlton’s Christmas was wonderful. I spent mine on the eastern shore of Maryland with family. I became a grandfather for the first time last week so all energy and focus has been on the little one, delightfully so. Precious.

You both be safe and well.
