Pumpkin Pie is a Veggie, Right?

Street Shots – Day 24.

Took today’s street shot with the iPod. Yes, he was still alive.

The Octopus seemed to be getting packed up and ready to go today. I guess the uber-rich can only stand so much fun.

Mailed my Xmas presents today. And, got another pumpkin pie – on sale – I declared pumpkin pie a veggie. Just nice winter squash. So for dinner we’ll be having turkey-pineapple-mac nut salad, rice and “veggies” tonight.

Finished My Shopping

Street Shots – Day 22.
Fishing – Throw Netting

I was playing paparazzi – taking more pictures of The Octopus – when I looked the other direction and way in the distance – a guy throw netting.

Also, started and finished my holiday shopping. Shopped at our local museum shop. And, purchased locally produced items. Will attend to packing and mailing early next week.

Got Turkey!

Street Shots – Day 21.
People having fun on vacation.

A good friend brought baggies of turkey and ham over this afternoon. The Thanksgiving Fairy.

Took a walk to get a better look at The Octopus.

The Octopus.

and…

A closer look at the floating toy box. The “small” boat is 63 feet long.

Happy T-Day

Street Shots – Day 20. Fishing continues. Thanksgiving or not.

Had an altogether fine turkeyless Turkey Day. Did have pumpkin pie and whipped cream.

I walked 5.25 miles, went for a swim and took pictures of Paul Allen’s yacht – The Octopus.

Paul Allen’s house, palm trees and 400+ foot yacht, The Octopus.
And The Horizon Police will be after me for this one!

The Octopus.

The Octopus, 411 feet, sports two helicopters on the top deck (one in front and one on the back), and a 63-foot tender docked in the transom. There are a total of seven tenders aboard. The yacht also has a pool, located aft on one of her upper decks, and two submarines (one of them operated by remote control for studying the bottom of the ocean). Side hatches at the water line form a dock for jet skis. At least that is what Wikepedia says.

Got Fish?

Street Shots – Day 19.

The fishing component of our village life is busy catching opelu. They are small. Ideal use is as live bait which hopefully results in a larger fish. But, opelu can be fried or grilled. Bones, skin, heads and tails – eat up the whole thing.

Monday

Street Shots – Day 18.

Walked 5.25 miles this morning. Then went for a swim – mostly to cool off.

And, that is about it for the day. I am fast becoming a really boring Little Old Lady. Heck, I am even boring me! But, there are lots worse things than being bored. Of that, I am sure.

And, more of the same – this time in color.
Walking the dog – island style.

Sunday

One from the street:
Street Shots – Day 17.

Sunday – never mind that we have been retired since forever. Sunday is still special.

One from Hulihe’e Palace:
Halau Hula Na Pua U’i O’ Hawai’i
One from yesterday:
Old Car Night

The Weekend.

Street Shots – Day 16. TutuMan and small boy.

Taking the day off. It was cloudy all day. Big chore of the day was defrosting the fridge. Spam musubi for lunch. Scrambled eggs on tap for dinner.

Underwater

Street Shots – sans the street – Day 14.

Fine day. First, hunt down the day’s food. Next walk 5.25 miles. Then read and rest. Make lunch. (Rice, chicken, avocado). Finally – spent afternoon in the ocean.

Accidental Peg Pix – I was “sneaking” a shot with the iPod – but I had the forward facing camera on…

Paddle Board Lessons

Street Shots – Day 13. (Without the Street)

Another lazy day.

Hunter-gathering failed today – so, like a good hunter-gatherers – we are eating our cached food today. Cheese, donut holes, granola bars, bananas, cookies, coffee, avocado, tomatoes, canned tuna, yogurt. Nobody starved.
