A rainy ride home

Goodbye Ocean. I’ll miss you.
A rainy drive back to The Asylum
A truck full of wet hens.
There are still believers.
I am all in for crab cakes over mac & cheese. Plus dessert.

This was at the Easton Diner where were stopped for breakfast.

Some things are just wrong. And Rainbow Bagels are one of those things.

At the Amish Market in Parole MD.

A very lazy beach day

Sunset yesterday. A nice end to the day.

We went up to Bethany Beach in Delaware for dinner.

Girls, even very old girls, just want to have fun.

Dinner was great.

The end of the boardwalk.

Today’s adventure. I walked from the hotel to the other end of the boardwalk. Walking north was rather ordinary. No people either.

The ocean was still there.

For all my laughs about how tacky Ocean City MD is, it still has the ocean. And I can watch the ocean from my bed. It’s been an excellent two days.

Cold and Wacky Ocean City MD

0613am. Coffee. Sunrise. Good start.
And an osprey. Right outside my window.
Not sure what this is.
Public Art?
Make America Healthy Again?

Yes, Carol, there is a Purple Moose Saloon.

A devout sun worshiper.

Surfing is an addiction. It was below 40 degrees. The wind was blowing. The waves were nonexistent. These guys were giving it their best.

Ocean City MD

I can see the sea from my bed.

What’s not to love? Well, it’s chilly. I plan on doing absolutely nothing for the next two days.

Everything looks worse in black and white.

Looking Behind.
Gratitude

Grateful that I made the effort.

Peaceful. Many seniors very few college age people. Everyone was mostly annoyed that they had to do this shit again. A lot of people sat on the grass and hadn’t considered how they would get up. No trouble with transit. Especially enjoyed hearing Dr William Barker II and Rep Jamie Raskin. It was all more spontaneous than organized. Lots of people from out of town.

Looking Left.

friday

It was a fine spring day.
The sign is the easy part. Do I have the strength to show up?

I’ll find out tomorrow if I can do it. I am an old person. What do I have to lose? I emailed my lawyer to say that I am going, and she might have to spring me out of jail. If “they” are going to come after an old white woman from the ‘burbs, then we have already lost the war.

Make a list.

    1. Phone. Battery Pack.
    2. Rain Jacket????
    3. Cane
    4. Small Bills
    5. ID
    6. Metro Card
    7. Lawyer’s Card
    8. Water
    9. Granola Bars
    10. Sign
    11. Mask

Thursday

Snow Balls.
Ray the Rosemary Bush is blooming wildly in my garden box.

Ignoring the stock market. Not easy. Ignoring what’s happening or not at the shit show 7 miles to the east of The Old Bat Cave. Also ignoring The Asylum’s plans to renovate our public spaces. That’s the only thing that I can safely ignore. (1) They are going to do whatever they are going to do. (2) I might be dead even before they get started. (3) They are not going to eliminate the saloon.

I should stop and take a better photo. But, trying to do a mile in under 18 minutes. I failed.

Bleeding hearts are fun to photograph but they are only around for a week or two every spring.

Just looked at the market close. Not pretty. A quarter mil here a quarter mil there. After a while that adds up to real money. Quarter mil is about what it costs to fuel one of the Billionaire Boyz yachts.

Graditude

Greenland is a fine country.

Grateful that Greenland welcomed me several summers ago. I am too old to be a soldier of fortune, but if Greenland needs help. They can count on me.

Grateful to the voters in Wisconsin and Florida who showed up and voted for good, not evil, yesterday.

Grateful for Senator Booker. Thank you, sir, for hope.

The USA was once a beacon of hope.

America needs help. I am too old to take to the streets. Age will slow me. Age will not stop me.

April 1

I can still “hunter gatherer” a better meal than the Asylum can “cook”.

First, 20 hours into his speech which technically isn’t filibuster Cory Booker is fucking awaresome:

“I don’t want a Disneyfication of our history! I don’t a whitewashed history, I don’t want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness”

On a day when 10,000 Health Service workers are fired, we need a lot more Cory Bookers.

I shall not whine about being tired.

Second,  for the next couple of hours, “my” volcano might be pretty cool. At this instant the south vent is over 200 meters.

Unless DOGE closes Volcanoes National Park and takes the camera away.

Last Day of March. 72 Day of tRump 2.0

0621AM, Before dawn.

Looking for something happy to report.

    • I might have serious hayfever or an old-fashioned cold. But, I don’t have Covid.
    • “Death Cleaned” a couple of drawers today. I have 12 huge drawers. Things get shoved to the back never to be seen again. Things went to the trash.
    • It didn’t rain today. Yet. Rain tonight would be nice.
    • I haven’t killed anyone today. Yet.
