Sunrise Series #8

Sunrise Series #8

Sunrise was pretty gray today. But, it finally made an appearance.

Worked from 8 to 4:30 today at the volunteer job. That is more than enough working and computing for me for one day. Work the entire day tomorrow too.

Sunrise Series – Day 7

Sunrise Series #7 – Birds

Chores today. Wanted to find the floor of my closet. Took stuff down to Goodwill. Got a dentist appointment for December in Kona… Tried to get a flat rate box from the Post Office. Failed. They didn’t have the size I wanted. Wonder why the Post Office is losing money? Exercised my franchise. Didn’t want to be suddenly taken Republican.

Going to be very mature this evening – going to watch Ironman movies.

Sunrise Series Day 6

Sunrise Series #6

A wipeout today. No bird plane or superman in the sunrise shot. Zero points. And just to rub it in, as I am getting ready to leave for work – the starlings land on the porch.

Starlings – From Inside Looking Out.

Yesterday, I made a 1950’s dinner. Pot roast, mashed potatoes, peas – couldn’t manage canned peas which is what would have been on the menu in the Durham house – the Bethany-Combs house enjoyed sugar snap peas. Carlton really enjoyed the 1950’s dinner. Maybe, I should find a “TV Dinner” – now that would be a real 1950’s dining experience.

Sunrise Series – Day 5

Sunrise #5 – Not many clouds or planes this morning.

Chrispy cool fall day today.

Sad little day. The week old panda at the zoo died. In this crazy world that doesn’t amount to much. But, the world is still the poorer for want of a baby panda. RIP baby panda.

Sunrise Series Day 4

Sunrise Series#4 –  Olive Drab.

Another day of less than marvelous sunrise. And, on the weekends, there are fewer planes. This is the only one with a plane. So, today’s photo is rather bleak and dull. And not Photoshopped.

In 5 weeks we’ll be heading to Kona. Today, in addition to breakfast and a lavish lunch – I had a scone and an ice cream sandwich. Can anyone say “Fit into wetsuit”?

Sunrise Series Day 3

Sunrise Series #3

This morning’s sunrise was sort of ordinary.

The process of going outside and waiting for the sun to come out with only my camera and coffee for company have proven to be a very nice way to start the day.

Sunrise Series Day 2

Sunrise Series #2

Decided that I may as well try to get a plane in the sunrise series shots.

Nice fall day today. Carlton is having a “Superman Fest” watching all of our Superman films. Thank goodness for earphones.

An early morning bonus shot looking north.

Fog on the Potomac River

The fog on the river is another seasonal pleasure.

Sunrise Series

Sunrise Series #1

At this time of year, we have gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Our view is of the sunrise and I get up early most days. I decided to do a series of sunrise photos. And, I’ll “over process” them which is currently fashionable.

Yesterday, I spent 47 minutes waiting waiting waiting on hold in call center jail to cancel my old hosting service. Next billing cycle – we’ll see if it worked. In my world… If you can signup on line you would be able to cancel on line.

Living Will Form

I, ____________, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be
kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances
should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead partisan politicians who
couldn’t pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it, or
lawyers/doctors/hospitals interested in simply running up the bills.

If after a reasonable amount of time passes, and I fail to ask for:
(Check appropriate items) ______a Martini ______a Margarita ____a
Scotch and soda ______a Bloody Mary or a beer ______a Gin and Tonic
_______a Glass of Chardonnay ______a Steak ______Lobster or crab legs
______the TV remote control ______a bowl of ice cream ______a mug of coffee ______ Sex or ______Chocolate

It should be presumed that I won’t ever get any better. When such a
determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and
attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes, and call it
a day.

At this point, it is time to call the New Orleans Jazz Funeral Band to
come and do their thing at my funeral, and ask all of my friends to
raise their glasses to toast the good times we have had.

One Week Later

My gracious porch… It needs a decorator

It was a week ago that I had my so called excellent idea to change my hosting service. On Monday, I’ll cancel the pricey service.

The MS Mousy 5000 still doesn’t work with the new Airness. Nevertheless, tomorrow I’ll packup the old Airness and ship it to Apple recycling or Gazelle. Don’t need to have anymore  expired technology around the house. It is enough to have two humans who have passed their “best if used by” date.

I think everything is working OK now.

The Dogs Day of Summer

OK, I think everything is working now. Blog works. Old pre-wordpress blog works. Sort of. Good enough. Email comes in and gets routed back out to Gmail. Almost ready to cancel the expensive service.

Liking the new Macbook Air. 4 times the memory. 2 times the disk space. Faster. Cooler. That would be thermo cooler. Longer battery life.

After lunch, I declared an end to all things computer and went out on the balcony for a no-tech afternoon of reading a dead tree magazine.

About the dog pictures – Sunday afternoon was dog day at the pool.

Wonder if I got the permissions sorted out?

Hey, it worked – here we see Sir Nigel enjoying doggie ice cream at the pool.

OK, I think the Blog is OK – at least for now. At least until it is time to upgrade WordPress.

And, since I was able to post the photo of Nigel, the SD card reader function works. Goodthing too. Since, all I needed was an SD card reader. The MacBook Air being lagniappe.

My beloved MS Bluetooth Mousy doesn’t work with this Mac. Worked liked a champ with the old one. Sorry Apple. But, I love my vintage IBM keyboard and MS mouse.
