Well, I spoke too soon yesterday afternoon about our lack of snow. It has been snowing up top all day today.
Nice icicle.
In case you are wondering – there are 30+ telescopes up there.
Nobody is Promised Tomorrow. . .

We haven’t had much snow this winter. We didn’t have much last winter either.
Not doing much these days. Being lazy. Reading Kindle Books by the pool.
Made arrangements to return Oct 27, 2013. I guess this is optimistic. And, we found out that Flo and Stu age almost 90 and over 90 have also booked in for next winter.
Just a lazy vacation day. Went on a whale watch walk and saw no whales. But, I did see whales from my balcony.
The last of the regulars are heading home today. Old age, death, and changes to the hotel have drastically reduced the number of regulars.
A little chilly and windy this afternoon. What to do? Spend a couple of bucks and a couple of hours riding Honu Bus.
Since I didn’t get off the bus (I would have had to pay another 2 dollars and wait an hour for the bus to come back) I didn’t take pictures. But, I did snap the pier and this “Drinking Allowed 10AM to 10PM…” sign on the life guard stand at Magic Sands Beach. Years ago Mr C was surfing that that beach. He wiped out and pile drove himself head first into the sand. The man just missed breaking his neck. We haven’t been back since.
Our neighborhood hula halau has been invited to the state hula championship next month. So, everyone showed up to cheer them on during their last public “practice” before they go off to compete.
Today’s event was canoe races. The 25th Annual Hawaii Law Enforcement Officers Regatta. I don’t think that the race was the most important part of the event. The race was just an excuse for a nice party later in the day and into the evening. I saw many cases of good beer being iced in the back of pickup trucks.
That would be Kaneohe. And, I didn’t tell the lad – zip codes do change.
This morning I walked over to “Baby Beach”. It is was a lovely time. I floated around in my own almost private little natural pool. A fine way to get over being bored.
Two weeks from today I’ll be rushing around getting us ready to go home. Today, I made sure that I would still fit into my traveling pants. I have been eating pretty good lately. Fitting into the pants was not a sure thing.
Why is it that I always decide to take pictures of flowers on windy days?
Went looking for whales today.
This person is in about 2 feet of water.
You might be able to tell that I am a bit bored today. But, I consider being bored a personal problem. There are lots worse things than being bored.
Even when you are on vacation – there are still chores. Laundry today. And the usual hunter/gathering. And, it was cloudy and cool today. So, after chores and lunch – I napped.
My picture book from the Great North American Train Trip arrived today. Shutterfly does a fine enough job. And, this book matches all the rest of them that I have made over the years. But, Lightroom 4 has an interface to Blurb – so, I might give them a try.
As soon as I get some notion about Mr C’s medical issues, treatments, prognosis, I think I need to plan my 2013 adventure. Of course, there is nothing stopping me from thinking about it now. The train trip was such a blast – the temptation will be to do something similar. But, I should resist that temptation and go for something new.
A little bird watching. And, I actually saw several whales on my whale walk.
More musubi for lunch. Went to Target for no apparent reason. And, went to the pool. That is about it.
Went to the beach. Went to the pool. Had musubi for lunch. Took a nap. Also, took a picture of this fine a’ama crab. Chicken katsu is on tap for dinner.
Pretty laid back day today. The tickets home are purchased. Mr C has an appointment to see a doctor. All my fussing, urging, suggesting, nagging didn’t change one thing as far as when we return home. There is a lesson in this for me.
I think I’ll treat myself to 2 weeks of worry free, stress free vacation time starting tomorrow. And then on Feb 25, I’ll spring in to action and get us ready to go home, finish getting my tooth fixed etc etc etc.
Interesting seismic activity. There has been nine 6.0 or greater earth quakes in the last eleven days around the Pacific Rim. We notice things like that here in the middle of the Pacific.
