Monday

Street Shots – Day 11.

Walked 4.25 miles and swam an unknown distance today. Made chicken for lunch. Another lazy day in Kona.

Mr C’s health is getting a little iffy. It made me very happy when he mentioned doing something “next winter”.

Maybe someone can explain “men” to me. As in, General Petraeus. What is it with men? Honestly, when you are 60 years old – how fantastic can sex be? Can it really that good? Good enough to kill your career and end life on the planet as you know it? (To those people who say “sex is better than ever” after 60 or 70 – I only say – you must not have been paying attention when you were younger!)

Sunday

Street Shots – Day 10.

Need a waste basket, hat, bowl, fan, etc. This guy will make you one while you wait.

And, another Kona moment…

So sorry Auntie, too bad you died at 4:30… we will not be remembering you.

Coffee Parade…

Street Shots – Day 9. Waiting for the Parade

No photos worth keeping from the parade. But, it was still fun. Bon dancing on the pier this evening.

Sunrise from Hotel Room

What a fine way to start the day.

More from the darker side of “paradise”

Street Shots – Day 8.

The iPod leaves much to be desired as a camera. But, the best camera is always the one you have in your hand.

Walked 4.25 miles today. Did some very light reading. That was about it for the day.

While I was on my walk I was listening to a Jimmy Buffet playlist… I know, not exactly quality listening. All of a sudden, my iPod decides I really should be listening to Bach Mass in B Minor… Was the iPod trying to tell me something? And, if so – what??? I have almost 14 GB of music on my iPod. Why would it decide to play Bach? Especially his Requiem Mass. Why not one of the Brandenburg Concerto?

Another Tour Dude

Street Shots – Day 7

Somehow, when I moved my Lightroom Catalog to the new computer – somehow – I ended up with two catalogs. Don’t know how it happened. But, I am glad I discovered it. And, I think I got it all sorted out.

Yesterday I swam into a “ball” of opelu

Bluefin Trevally and School of Opelu

The Day Before Election Day

Street Shots – Day 4 – Woody – Kona’s Answer to Thomas Kinkade

Nice nice day today. A little laundry. A little swimming. A little photography. Lots of hoping for the best tomorrow.

I have been working on my wireless connection. It is getting better.

Lazy Sunday

Street Shots – Day 3

Had a very lazy Sunday. Spam musubi and most excellent strawberry mochi for lunch.

Yesterday I was feeling OK about the election. Not so sure today. Maybe, I have only been looking for silver linings. Then our local paper had a horror story article about how Paul Ryan could actually be elected president if the Electoral College can not get it done… If the House of Representatives gets to elect the president. As I said – horror story.

Vog 2Day

Street Shots – Day 2

We are all vogged in today. But, there were dolphins in the bay and chickens in the trees. So, all is well in Kona.

I am starting to feel a tiny bit hopeful about the election. Hoping that the goodguys will at least keep either the Presidency or the Senate. Of course, my vision could be distorted – out here in the very blue Pacific.

Almost Settled In

Street Shots – Day 1

Almost settled in and jetlag almost over. But, the dreaded cookbook project did not die. It was lying in wait for my return. Not a problem. It is the least I can do for the good people who entertain Mr C …

New photo project. 28 days – street shooting in B/W from the hip. I am not very good at shooting from the hip. But, if you are going to survive street shooting in Kona – that is how you have to do it. It might not be “nice”. But, it is legal.

Only in Kona

Only in Kona

Once again – an “Only in Kona” moment.

All settled into the new digs. And, we got word from the apartment manager back in Arlington – the apartment didn’t leak and the power stayed on during Monday-Tuesday’s storm.
