I may take more pictures tonight. Or not.

Nobody is Promised Tomorrow. . .
This Blog started in 2001 as a Trip Log to record a summer in Alaska. Since then, it has morphed into my online diary.

I am still playing with the vintage (well, as far as digital cameras go – vintage) FX01.
Peg’s simple solution to the Florida Stand Your Ground Law issue. Stevie Wonder has the right idea. He is just the wrong person to implement it. What if all of the black (and as many nonblack ones as possible) football players refused to play ball in Florida – either for pro or college teams? How many days do you think it would take to come to a to a reasonable accommodation? How grand would that be? An old woman can have a dream – can’t she?

Still living in the summer of ’92. Didn’t do anything decluttering wise. But I did scan the photos from Harpers Ferry in 1992. And, made another photo book.

And more shameless advertising for Shutterfly in quest of another coupon.
If I like the way it turns out – I might just do this will all my old filmtime photos. I am not Ansel Adams. No one but me will ever want them.

Making some progress with the reduction project. 60 some objects have been either trashed or put in the donation piles. But, I must say I was distracted by my old film time photos. I have been scanning them into the computer.
Figured out why this decluttering is so hard. There is no move on the horizon. And, everything has a place. Everything is in its place. But still… Just because we have plenty of room right now – that is no reason to get too bogged down by stuff.
Still hot today. Thank you Mr Carrier for your fine invention of the A/C. Hope you got really rich.

THANKS Dave! You got me off the dime with your hint that the one pass option would be “good enough”. How many Cat 5 cables do I need? And RCA patch cords? Not to mention power cords… Not to worry – I’ll still have plenty of computer cables and external drives.
I also cleaned out a storage cabinet at my volunteer job.
Heat wave continues.

First, Days 2 and 3 of the Destuffing Project have been a total bust. I tossed a small handful of papers and got rid of a small plastic bag of hair thingies. Yesterday I looked at my collection of old external disc drives – mostly recycled computer hard drives. I just looked at them.
Photography-wise, I am suffering from GAS – Gear Acquisition Syndrome. I visited my current camera box and dug out an old fave – the FX01 (Purchased spring 2006).

Today I de-stuffed my kitchen cabinets and drawers. 9 things bit the dust today – it would be 10. But, only if I count the baking powder with an expiry date of 2002. I keep the kitchen pretty much under control – except for the junk drawer and the collection of plastic containers.

Summer is here. Maybe not the “Dog Days” – but truly summer. Two pool days in a row. Some sort of a record for this summer.
Mr. C seems to be doing fine. We took the bandage off the skin harvesting site. The nose has to stay wrapped up until Wednesday – when the Doc will unwrap it and put a new bandage on.
And, I am feeling “overstuffed”. We haven’t moved in 3 years – and stuff has sort of crept into closets, cupboards and drawers. So, between tomorrow and August 6 – I think that is 22 days – I want to get rid of 220 things. That might be overly optimistic. But, I am going to give it a try.

Whew! Carlton still has a nose. He has to take very good care of his nose for a month to ensure the skin transplant sticks. The patch on the side of his head is the source of the skin for the transplant. It should be all better in a week.
We are happy that he has 98% of his nose left. We are also hoping that he doesn’t get a head cold until the transplant “takes”.
Now, did the spell chek get fixed, magically? Nope – still busted.

The other day Mr C found out that the Airness has a camera. Wonders never cease. And, while we are at it – Say goodbye to Carlton’s nose. Tomorrow he is having a Mohs job on his nose. Hopefully he will escape with most of his nose. But, there are no guarantees.
The bandage on his head is left over from last month’s Mohs job.
I wonder why spell check seems to have stopped working in my WordPress? The button is still there. I can still click it. But it is happy with everything – even duhhhh. duhhh is underlined – but clicking on it does zip.
