Magnolias – Try #3

3rd magnolia
3rd magnolia try – L1 with Leica 2.8 lens

Still have magnolias. Of course, there is an additional challenge with magnolias. Reaching them.

I did darn little today. Went to volunteer. Went on a walk to keep my FitBit happy. Lounged on the shady deck. I haven’t been basking in the sun the year. Do you think it has something to do with Mr C’s killer skin cancer?

Speaking of Mr C – I would still be concerned about his swollen lymph nodes. But, “they” seem to think the nodes are just inflamed – not raging cancer manufacturing facilities. It is the new normal and I have acclimated.

Enjoy Every Sandwich: Liked the grilled ham, cheese and tomato sandwich we had a while ago – so I made that again.

Sunday…

P1120732-Edit

Just a nice peaceful sunday. The sink still works. Washed dishes – everything was fine.

Made really fine Enjoy Every Sandwich Quesadillas…

We started talking a little seriously about an old folks asylum. Well, maybe not so serious. But, Carlton looked at a brochure and complained about it. I just hope he lives long enough to complain about moving into one in two years when our lease is up.

Girl Power…

Women’s 50K Race

Took the L1 down to the Clarendon Bike Races today. It isn’t just what the doctor ordered for sports photography. Today’s photo isn’t my finest ever “focus in the correct place” job. But, I kinda like it.

Enjoy Every Sandwich: Cheese Burgers! And Beer (for me).

Carlton played a bunch of tennis today. So, he is a pretty happy camper.

We got trouble…

Our Kitchen. Right now at this instant. L1
Our Kitchen. Right now at this instant. L1

We got trouble, right here in apartment 1701. Mr C was rinsing off the lunch dishes. The water stopped going down. We called the problem in at about 1400 hours. Mike came right up with the plumbing crash cart. 1630 hours now. Mike seems to have vanished. But, the water is still in the sink. NOW, I am hoping that no one upstairs flushes or whatever…

Thank goodness this is a rental problem.

We had a nice lunch of chicken and cauliflower. And fortunately I made our sandwiches while I was making lunch. So,

Enjoy Every Sandwich – ham, cheese, and coleslaw.

Update 1715 hours: Mike came back and brought Dave. Now there are two men under my sink.

Update Update 1830 hours: Mike and Dave finished. They have it fixed for now. I am not putting the stuff back under the sink just yet.

Magnolias – Try 2

Hummmmm, this one looks a tad dark.

That is better. Not good enough, but better. Tomorrow is another day to hunt for “the” magnolia.

Enjoy Every Sandwich. Really good grilled ham and cheese with tomato.

It’s Magnolia Time

Entry #1
Entry #1 – L1 and cheap pancake lens.

I haven’t done this in 3 or 4 years. Photograph Magnolias. Big fat white suckers. We’ll see what comes of this.

I have been lulled into complacency about the cancer business. I know it is still there. But, it isn’t consuming every waking moment. Enjoy every complacent day!

Enjoy Every Sandwich: Mr C will get tuna melt this evening and I’ll just have a regular tuna sandwich.

Isn't that pretty?

Nothing to see up top either.
Nothing to see up top either.

Not out of the woods. Not even close with Merkel Creature. But, this is a nice step in the right direction.

Thank you, Madam Curie and you too Professor Röntgen. And, Dr Bobby.

One more week of this series to go.

Enjoy Every Sandwich – Turkey, cheese and coleslaw.

We continue just doing normal old people stuff.

Nothing worth saving from today's photo walk
Nothing worth saving from today’s photo walk. Even the L1 strikes out some days.

The exercise part of the photo walk was OK. And, I got a nice “new” dress at the consignment shop. But, the photo part was a bust. Guess 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

Enjoy Every Sandwich: Mr C went out to lunch today with his old boss. He had a tuna sandwich.

I have returned to complacency, here in CancerLand. This isn’t so bad. I can do this. Until I get hit along side the head by reality again.

Sunny Sunday

Bon Aire Rose Garden - Today
Bon Aire Rose Garden – Today – L1 Still

Today’s photo walk took me to the Arlington County Rose Garden. No great shots. But, still a good walk. And, a good way to spend Sunday morning.

Mr C is still doing OK.

We had meatloaf and sweet potatoes today – haven’t planned our daily –
Enjoy Every Sandwich: most likely meatloaf sandwiches.

Wild Life Photographer?

This is my idea of wildlife photography
This is my idea of wildlife photography.

Yesterday, I headed out on my exercise/photo walk. I was going to photograph “wildlife”. This is the wildest thing I found.

Today, I did an exercise/grocery shopping walk.

I have to trick myself into exercising. Fortunately, I am pretty easy to trick.

Enjoy Every Sandwich: I made Mr C a tuna melt. I passed on the melt part and had tomatoes instead.

Enjoy Every Game…

Mr C plays tennis this afternoon.
Mr C playing tennis this afternoon. He wants you to know, he won.

I was out doing my required walking. (5.2 miles today)  With a little photography to make it seem like fun. Not exercise. Carlton was doing a little tennis on the Maury School Park courts.

Carlton’s radiologist called me today. He acknowledged my concern about the lymph nodes. He “hopes” they are just inflamed. If not – he’ll nuke them. After he finishes nuking the head. In two weeks.

Enjoy Every Sandwich. Fish tacos. That is close enough to a sandwich – isn’t it?

Seeing him playing tennis makes me very happy. Every good day is a joy.

Another Look…

Another look at the dandelion.
Another look at the dandelion.

Chilly and rainy here today. Darn little going on. And, that is not a bad thing.

Enjoy Every Sandwich. The popular, with us at least, turkey, swiss and coleslaw on ciabatta.
