Sunday – never mind that we have been retired since forever. Sunday is still special.
Nobody is Promised Tomorrow. . .
This Blog started in 2001 as a Trip Log to record a summer in Alaska. Since then, it has morphed into my online diary.
Sunday – never mind that we have been retired since forever. Sunday is still special.
Taking the day off. It was cloudy all day. Big chore of the day was defrosting the fridge. Spam musubi for lunch. Scrambled eggs on tap for dinner.
Kailua-Kona really is just a simple drinking village with a fishing problem.
Fine day. First, hunt down the day’s food. Next walk 5.25 miles. Then read and rest. Make lunch. (Rice, chicken, avocado). Finally – spent afternoon in the ocean.
Another lazy day.
Hunter-gathering failed today – so, like a good hunter-gatherers – we are eating our cached food today. Cheese, donut holes, granola bars, bananas, cookies, coffee, avocado, tomatoes, canned tuna, yogurt. Nobody starved.

Laundry day. Made big bowls of udon noodles for lunch. Dinner is going to be lots of avocado, with tomato and mozzarella cheese and olive oil. Think it is time to look at my collection of things to “cook” with only a microwave.
Walked 4.25 miles and swam an unknown distance today. Made chicken for lunch. Another lazy day in Kona.
Mr C’s health is getting a little iffy. It made me very happy when he mentioned doing something “next winter”.
Maybe someone can explain “men” to me. As in, General Petraeus. What is it with men? Honestly, when you are 60 years old – how fantastic can sex be? Can it really that good? Good enough to kill your career and end life on the planet as you know it? (To those people who say “sex is better than ever” after 60 or 70 – I only say – you must not have been paying attention when you were younger!)
Need a waste basket, hat, bowl, fan, etc. This guy will make you one while you wait.
And, another Kona moment…
No photos worth keeping from the parade. But, it was still fun. Bon dancing on the pier this evening.
What a fine way to start the day.
The iPod leaves much to be desired as a camera. But, the best camera is always the one you have in your hand.
Walked 4.25 miles today. Did some very light reading. That was about it for the day.
While I was on my walk I was listening to a Jimmy Buffet playlist… I know, not exactly quality listening. All of a sudden, my iPod decides I really should be listening to Bach Mass in B Minor… Was the iPod trying to tell me something? And, if so – what??? I have almost 14 GB of music on my iPod. Why would it decide to play Bach? Especially his Requiem Mass. Why not one of the Brandenburg Concerto?
Somehow, when I moved my Lightroom Catalog to the new computer – somehow – I ended up with two catalogs. Don’t know how it happened. But, I am glad I discovered it. And, I think I got it all sorted out.
Yesterday I swam into a “ball” of opelu
Whew! Did I ever feel better after the returns started piling up last night. It is Morning in America for Democrats. Maybe it is even safe to be a liberal again.
I took a big loss in the stock market today – but that is a small price to pay to avoid a Prez Romney and Senator Allen.
